Terms of Service
Last updated: July 21, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (whether personally or on behalf of an entity, "you") and app.tl ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of our link-shortening services (the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Accounts and Workspaces
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Work in the Service is organized into workspaces. A workspace is the ownership boundary for links, custom domains, API keys, and billing. Whoever owns a workspace controls it, and may invite or remove members. If you join a workspace you do not own, the owner may be able to see and manage the links you create in it.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Shorten or redirect to content that is unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent;
- Disguise the destination of a link in order to deceive recipients, including for phishing, malware distribution, or scams;
- Distribute links through unsolicited bulk messaging;
- Infringe the rights of others or violate any applicable law;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including by automated request volume that degrades it for others;
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
Because a short link hides its destination until it is followed, we treat deceptive redirection as a serious violation. We may disable any link or workspace we reasonably believe is being used this way, without prior notice.
3. Your Links and Content
You retain ownership of the destinations you link to and the content you supply ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display Your Content solely as needed to provide the Service. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights necessary to use it.
You are responsible for the destination of every link you create, including if that destination changes after the link is created.
4. Custom Domains
If you connect a domain you control, you are responsible for maintaining your DNS configuration and for the domain's registration. You represent that you are authorized to use any domain you connect. We may stop serving a domain if its verification lapses, if the domain is used in breach of these Terms, or if we are required to do so.
Disconnecting a domain or ending your subscription will stop links on that domain from resolving.
5. Billing and Payment
Paid plans are billed in advance on the interval you select. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or expressly stated. We may change our pricing with reasonable notice; changes take effect at your next renewal.
Paid features remain available only while your subscription is active. If a subscription lapses, entitlements revert to the free plan and features such as custom domains, custom handles, and API access stop working, which may cause links that depend on them to stop resolving.
6. Cancellation and Termination
You may cancel at any time. Deleting a workspace cancels its subscription and permanently deletes its links, click data, custom domains, and API keys. This cannot be undone, and previously issued short links will stop working.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.
7. Service Availability
We aim to keep redirects fast and available, but the Service is provided without any uptime commitment unless we have agreed one with you in writing. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by app.tl and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our branding except as necessary to use the Service.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not review, endorse, or vouch for the destinations of links created with the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, app.tl will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold app.tl harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of Your Content, the destinations you link to, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
